Sabrina Poirier

Sabrina Poirier worked within the private, public and not-for-profit sectors for over 20 years. Her work in politics, education and community development helped shape her perspective and fine tune her approach to meaningful engagement and positive systems change.  Sabrina is a co-founder of the ICanCME Research Network, the Chair of its Working Group on Trainee Development and Medical Education and a member of the 2023-2025 Community Leadership Team. From 2018-2021, she served as a Research Ambassador for the Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis (IMHA) at the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and from 2020-2023 as a Community Advisory

I am a patient dx with ME. My goal and sole objective right now is to heal. I've been down for nearly 8 years. Contracted something in subsaharan Africa in 2010 that was exacerbated weeks later when I contracted something else in South East Asia. Alexa Keeshan

Alexa Keeshan is a postdoctoral fellow at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. She obtained her doctorate in epidemiology at the University of Ottawa. Her thesis focused on the humoral immune response to COVID-19 vaccination in various high-risk clinical populations (e.g., the immune compromised, obese). During her degree, she also conducted research regarding other viruses, such as hepatitis B and C, HIV, and measles. Her postdoctoral project is focused on the transmission dynamics of HIV-Hep B, HIV-Hep C and HIV-syphilis coinfections in Canada over the past three decades. Dr. Maxime Sasseville is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing Sciences at Université Laval and a researcher at the VITAM Research Centre – Sustainable Health. His work focuses on the implementation of digital health interventions, the use of patient-reported outcomes, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence within health systems, with particular attention to ethical, methodological, and data governance challenges.
