Alexa Keeshan is a postdoctoral fellow at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. She obtained her doctorate in epidemiology at the University of Ottawa. Her thesis focused on the humoral immune response to COVID-19 vaccination in various high-risk clinical populations (e.g., the immune compromised, obese). During her degree, she also conducted research regarding other viruses, such as hepatitis B and C, HIV, and measles. Her postdoctoral project is focused on the transmission dynamics of HIV-Hep B, HIV-Hep C and HIV-syphilis coinfections in Canada over the past three decades. She has experience in various research methodologies and topics, including longitudinal data analysis, prospective cohort studies, and post COVID-19 condition/long COVID.
